General Application Rates
As all growers are aware, optimal application rates often vary substantially from crop to crop as well as from farm to farm, depending on a large number of things. Accordingly, we provide the following rates just to give a framework and encourage you to email us or call for specific application rates, depending on your particular crop and location.
How Often and When to Apply
For vegetable and row crops we recommend you apply 3 gallons per acre 4 times a year.
First Application: At planting, the product can be applied to soil, in-furrow, and/or sprayed/broadcast.
Second Application: Foliar spray when first primary leaves come out and/or when plants are 8 to 10 inches tall.
Third Application: Pre-blossom or pre- tassel.
Fourth Application: Pre-harvest
Note: Each gallon of fish should be mixed with at least 10 gallons of water. Many crops see tremendous benefits when mixed at 30:1, 50:1 and even 100:1.
Because our fertilizer includes absolutely all of the beneficial oils, Indian River Organics® Liquid Fish Fertilizer is a remarkable “sticking agent.” Whenever you are making a field spray, consider adding some fish to your mix. The fish will provide a number of benefits to each application, including more efficient delivery to the plant via the leaves and extended time remaining in the root zone of the soil. Many inputs are more efficiently delivered when mixed with fish, and could allow you to cut your application rates. Indian River Organics Liquid Fish Fertilizer makes an excellent adjuvant or input sticking agent. It helps to deliver your inputs more efficiently and potentially lowers your overall costs.
Remember: It is better to fertilize more often with less, than less often with more. If running through drip tape, we suggest using 1 ounce per gallon of water once a week. Remember to flush lines with clean water when done.
